General Administration:

Attendance Guidelines
Stealth Field Hockey aspires to be a premier athletic organization dedicated to the improvement of each individual player that can only be achieved through practice.

It is the expectation of the Stealth Field Hockey Coaching Staff that athletes show up on time to all required practices, team meetings, and tournaments prepared with the proper equipment.

All absences should be communicated in advance and will be reviewed by the coaching staff to determine impact on the athlete’s playing time. Any questions concerning playing time should be discussed between the payer and the coach.

Playing Time
Stealth Field Hockey promotes competitive and fair play; therefore, individual playing time will be allocated based on ability, playing position, attendance to practices, and team chemistry.

Playing time is not guaranteed. However, each player will be provided with enough playing time to adequately showcase themselves as long as the conditions above have been met.

Inclement Weather
If there is inclement weather conditions and practice needs to be cancelled, we will email you as well as post on the Stealth Field Hockey social media accounts.

Notification of all cancellations will be sent/posted as soon as deemed necessary in hopes of creating the least amount of inconvenience as possible.

Stealth Field Hockey will try to reschedule the canceled event; however, it is not guaranteed it will be reschedule.

Registration Information:

All athletes should be registered through the Stealth Field Hockey website in advance of the intended season of play this includes camps, fundamental sessions, tryouts for leagues and practices for accepted teams. Registration can be completed online here.

Additionally, all athletes on regional and national teams must be a member of the USA Field Hockey Organization. Membership for USA Field Hockey Organization can be completed online here. Please present a copy of the athlete’s membership card and birth certificate at the tryout session.

Evaluation & Tryouts:

Eligibility To Tryout:

  • Tryouts are open to all new and returning athletes who are interested in playing on a Stealth Field Hockey Team.
  • Age of eligibility is based on the USA Field Hockey associations rule. As such, the age of eligibility is based on birth year considered as of December 31st of that given year for the following year of play— and not school grade.
  • For example, if the athlete is 15 on December 31st and turns 16 on January 1st the athlete will remain in the U16 division.
  • Players may be asked to play in a division above their age eligibility due to the talent of the athlete and/in order to fill out a team in the specific division.

Procedure:

  • The format of tryouts this year will differ due to Covid-19.   Evaluations will take place over the course of the first practices.
  • The Stealth Field Hockey Coaching Staff will evaluate the athlete’s skills, effort, and team compatibility.  Final team selection and placement will be based on the athlete’s stick work, accuracy of passing, footwork, speed, defensive skills, and oversight of the field. Other considerations will include the athlete’s leadership, efforts towards driving team spirit, and  general attitude. Prior field hockey experience is not required to be considered for a Stealth Field Hockey Team.
  • The Stealth Field Hockey Coaching Staff is committed to placing all athlete’s respectively on the team that will provide them with the best opportunity for growth and development.

Required Equipment:

All athletes are required to be adequately prepared for practices, fundamental sessions, and tournament play with the appropriate equipment.

General Equipment Requirements for all teams for safe practice:

  • Tennis shoes or cleats
  • Mouthguard
  • Shin guards
  • Field Hockey stick

For Indoor – Regional & National teams:

  • Stealth Pennie
  • Indoor Field Hockey Stick
  • Left Handed Glove (optional, but highly recommended)

For Outdoor – Regional & National teams:

  • Stealth Pennie
